As the sole UX designer for Slimming World Kitchen, I lead end-to-end UX work across multiple projects, from discovery to delivery. I conduct user research, usability testing, and design, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless handovers and smooth implementation. I work alongside the insights team and regularly analyse data from Meta and other sources to identify user behaviour trends and inform design decisions. This role has allowed me to deepen my UX skillset, take ownership of key projects, and design solutions that make a meaningful impact on users’ wellness journeys.
My first role in UX design, CatchApp Bookings gave me the opportunity to apply and grow my skills in a real-world setting. I started as a UX researcher and designer, conducting usability testing, user interviews, and competitive analysis to inform product decisions. As I became more involved in the visual side of the product, I also took on UI responsibilities and built a custom design system to bring consistency and efficiency to the design process. This role gave me hands-on experience across the full UX/UI spectrum and helped me gain a strong foundation in product design.
I studied a Bachelor's course in Business, Computing, and IT, where I was introduced to user research methods and data analysis. I found this area of the course especially engaging, as it highlighted the value of understanding users to inform digital solutions. This sparked my interest in UX design, and after graduating, I took the Google UX Design Certificate on Coursera to build on that foundation. The course allowed me to deepen my knowledge of UX principles, develop practical skills in tools like Figma, and gain hands-on experience designing user-centered digital products from start to finish.
